Moon Shot for Practice

With the lunar eclipse coming up in a couple of days I thought I should get my camera ready and try a few shots. This is my best one for the night. Fortunately it is right off my front porch. I used a Nikon D800 and an older style 80-400 lens.

Nice photo but that background has got to go! Try pretty flowers or something. Perhaps horses in a pasture. What do you think?

Maybe you are right. I will go back to flowers after the 15th. Thanks for looking at my moon shot.

Great shot!! Do you recall f-stop, exposure and ISO settings. I am trying to get ready for Lunar Eclipse Monday nite. Wish me luck.

ISO 200, f 11, 1/250 th.

i went out to shoot the moon last night and it was so bright i had to change all my settings.
i wanted to use my SX50 and I could only stop it down to f8 so I changed my shutter to over 1/1000 to gain some detail. The iso was 100.
Will try again tonight after I receive my tamron 150-600. Should be a good test.
