Can a Sony RX10 take an acceptable moving bird picture?

Snapped these pictures this morning on my walk. Flying birds is tough even when you have a 400-600mm leas but the Sony RX10 only has a 200mm so you must crop in to bring the subject in close, thus you loose resolution. Tough assignment for this little camera but never less it got the job done. The 2 birds in flight were done manually but with continuous auto focus.

The 3rd picture was just cute, yes, auto focus ........

Try shooting at a smaller aperature and raise the ISO setting. Then try a few different shutter speeds.

The flying duck was:

1/1600
F 5.6
640 ISO

When I shot yesterday I was at 1/1250 and it seemed slow. I would agree it would be nice to get to a 11 - 16 f stop but it isn't possible unless I go to about 1250 on the ISO, isn't that a bit high for this smaller sensor bridge camera?

If I'm wrong please tell me, glad to try again tomorrow with a different setting.

Thank you

There is only one way to find out for yourself, do it! And try several shutter speeds and aperatures and ISO's and see what works.....Lew

The flying duck is not sharp, nor are the floating ducks. I don't think this is a problem with shutter speed.
