I have the new X4 which was an upgrade from the x2(and x3 models). I like it a lot and its relatively easy to use . With the online help app its a breeze to learn. I believe it has been on sale on Corels' site, or you may d'load a trial I believe.
If you choose to buy it get the "disc" copy so you get the reference book with it.

If I can help you with something on it let me know. Don

I use Corel Paint Shop Pro all the time. It is user freindly and easy to use right out of the box. I have tried to use photoshop, I do not think I had the correct version becouse I could not even figure out how to import photos into the program. I have been super happy with the results and recomend it to anyone who is just starting out becouse for the cost about 40 bucks you can do a lot. I know there are a lot of photoshop users and more power to them. It has baffeled me every time and I do not have the patients or $$ to spend time on something I may or may not be able to work with. I hope someday when I am not working full time and am able to spend more time on editing I can finally explore photoshop but until now I am happly using Paint shop. I recomend getting a book becouse I quickly was able to do new things that I had not been able to figure out before (working with layers). Good luck.

You don't import photos into photoshop you just open them from the file menu.

I think I would like this program. I downloaded the trial but didn't find the time to do much with it. The prices seem right so maybe I'll try again. Thanks for your reply.

I've been using it since the first version. You can do just about anything you can do in Photoshop with it. It takes Photoshop filters. I've found that it usually is about one version behind Photoshop when it comes to new additions. A very good program for the money.
