or it could be a wedding dress that was worn but hung up so she could look at it everyday & think of the happy memory ;)

ps: personal experience - mine is hanging on my closest door - I look at it everyday :D

Hey that's in Murrells Inlet next to the Belin Church and the boat launch area. I know it well.
Very interesting scene!

My thoughts exactly . . . if I lived near, I would have to find out the story!

If you ever do find out the story--or any story--about the dress, please let us know. I am really intrigued. How long has the lodge been boarded up?

Was intrigued when I noticed the dress in the window. The old lodge was boarded up and abandoned. I can't help but wonder what's the story behind "The Dress in the Window". Simply forgotten and left behind or there for a message. Perhaps a private message for us not to know. What say you and does the photo arouse any emotion?

It looks like a wedding dress...

mgstrawn and Falcon thank you for your interest. I don't live in the area but visit four or five times a year. I'm not sure how long Oliver's has been closed. You've heigthened my interest and I'm going to see if I can find out anything. If successful I'll let you know. Thanks again.

I believe Miss Havisham continued to wear hers so it would not be in the window during the day but thanks for the great comment.

My imagination is active. I'm thinking that she hung it there for her ex fiance' to see when he passes there as a reminder. I usually think happy, but that looks sad to me.
I hope you do find out and let us know.
