Just thinking about selling a T2i in great condition. Body only. How much are they going for among UHH members? I have thought about selling it many times, but I think it is much worth and a back up on a rainy day than the money i can get for her considering that I bought her new and treated her very well.
The other alternative, What could I get as trade-in?
As a female buyer/shopper(very different from a man-shopper), I like to do these from time to time. Thinking about it.

Bubu,
I have a T2i and I'm using it as a back up and as an inside camera even after buying a 7D for BIF and other outdoor shots.
I use the T2i with a lens that operates better in lower light such as a high school gym and/or swimming pool and I get great shots.
If it's a girl thing to sell it so be it but it is a great camera.

I'm in a similar situation, Bubu. I just moved from a Nikon D3100 to a D7100. Think of it in Canon terms as going from a T3i to a 70D. I could use some cash to upgrade my lenses with the improved resolution, but my D3100 would only sell for about $300 if I include the kit lenses. At worst, without it I would take a chance on being DSLR-less for a couple of weeks if I need warranty repair. But I'm also retired and a hobby shooter and can survive that. I just cannot convince myself to box up my old friend and put it up for sale! Tough decision, but it's your call and let your conscience be your guide. :)
I just traded in my 60D and Sigma 2.8 combo in favor of purchasing a 6D and L lens combo thru Amazon. You determine the condition of the equipment and you can view how much you could realize from the the condition you stated. I would've loved to keep my 60D but needed the extra $500 towards a $3k purchase.

yes, I am envisioning going for a 7D/70D body but it is hard to let go of my faithful girl. Any money can come in handy as I am retired, so.. It's a hard decision. before Canons, I had a Nikon D70 that was difficult to let go of. Whoever bought it had a well cared camera on his hands. Thanks for the stories, I am don't feel so alone in my decision.
I recently purchased a Canon 6D, but kept my T2i. I use it with a Sigma 10-20mm lens, when I am carrying the 6D with longer lens. Sometimes you find a photo opportunity that lends itself to a wide angle lens and it is easier to use the second camera rather than change lenses. It is also a great "back up" camera, should you need it.

That is how I use it since I am not happy or comfortable changing lenses with wind and particles in the air. Now that you mention it, a wide angle or a 50mm looks like the best use for a T2i with the longer lens in the other camera.

They sell for about $350 all day long on Craigslist. I think that's what I sold mine for a couple of years ago. Or, you could have the sensor modified for infrared. I've always wanted to do that to one of my older bodies.

And how much would it cost to modify!
There is a "mod" also for astrophotography, if I am not mistaken

I did a trade in to get my t3i. I sold my old gear to B&H and then bought from Amazon (far better price). On trade in or sale of use gear you won't get as much as you will if you do an outright sale.
If you're wanting to upgrade I'd recommend the t3i, an excellent camera I've been using for a few months now.
I'm shooting lots of video (external audio very nice) and
excellent stills.
Just a thought.

What lens did you get. Just before Christmas I got a 6D with a 24-105 L Lens, a uv filter, canon pixma pro 100 printer, 50 sheets of canon glossy 13X19 paper, a small case, and memory card for 2500. Then got a $400 rebate to boot. Roughly $2100. Then got a 4% reward through Adorama and got a second battery and other toys for free. Can't beat their deals or service. By the way kept my 60D as a second or back up.
