...if it portends the future, that is great news. Repealing the ACA at this point would just create enough chaos for insurance companies to raise rates again. Better to just fix the glaringly stupid portions of the bill.

You either don't understand how insurance works or you don't want to admit the fact....is Obamacare stays in tact healthcare costs will skyrocket and quality will tank. A lot of the problems already in the system were caused by too much government intervention in the first place...

Could this mean they're going to work together and instead of attacking each other, they could use that energy to strengthen the law? We can hope...

Not sure we all understand. From my perspective, it is the medical community that needs to understand that their "job" is to contribute to the welfare of our people, not their profits......MRI costing well over $1000? A single script for a cancer med hundreds per month? However, if we remember in one of Mr. Obama's initial speeches, where he asked the American people to consider our own need for personal responsibility regarding our own health.....exercise, eat low fat and low carbs, high protein and fiber, no smoking, curb alcohol intake......Personally, I refuse to allow anyone to dictate my health needs or lack of....that's MY responsibility.

"Personally, I refuse to allow anyone to dictate my health needs or lack of....that's MY responsibility." and if you don't take care of yourself you won't use your health insurance?

I'll try to see the glass half full on this one, but it's tough with so many on the right still echoing the rhetorical cry to "repeal Obama-care". I'm not a fan of how the ACA was rolled out or even how it's built. But it is time for the right to realize what you have said - that repealing Obama-care now would be more damaging to our country than any of the damage the right claims Obama-care has caused thus far.

"I'm not a fan of how the ACA was rolled out or even how it's built." A men to that. Thanks to lobbying and the fight to get it passed, it's a Rosemary's Baby bill. Right idea, bad implementation. It seriously needs fixing, not repeal.

Sorry, it's NOT the right idea. Government cannot run anything well! If the true intent was to improve healthcare in this country...the law would not dictate what coverage people had to have, etc. All this law (or any government run health care system) will do is increase costs and lower quality of care!

"it is the medical community that needs to understand that their "job" is to contribute to the welfare of our people, not their profits"? Really? So doctors and nurses are servants of the public? They don't have the right to get paid according to their education or experience? Just for your information....their are a lot of factors contributing to the expense of medical care. Covering the cost of patients that don't pay is one.....the cost of testing required by the FDA is another.......costs of fighting frivolous lawsuits....You think $1,000 a month is very expensive? do you have any idea how many millions of dollars it takes to get a drug to market? The doctors and nurses are a small part of the cost....but the biggest factor to skyrocketing costs is too much government intervention!

The Wall Street Journal AND Charles Krauthammer both gave up the repeal banner yesterday saying it is inevitable that the ACA is with us til 2017 and effectively way beyond that. Krauthammer even said that the GOP needs to give up on Benghazi cuz "they blew their chance". Quite a turnaroud from a man who knows politics from both sides (he used to be a liberal Dem in college and afterwards)

The Repubs are going to lose again if they don't start being for something instead of against everything.

That was the WSJ and Krauthammer's point. That beating dead horses and tilting at windmills are living in fantasy and not forward looking activities.

The fracture in the party isn't helping either.

I believe we all understand how much it costs......What I do not understand is how much they spend on their ridiculous and persistent commercials, featuring actors and not real people, trying to sell their Meds. This huge expense is past down to the consumers. On top of it all, pharmaceuticals spend millions on drug reps, and hire "beautiful people" to do this work. I could not believe my eyes yesterday when two "model-like" women entered my doc's office yesterday........JUST TO SELL THEIR MEDS. B..S...
