Not much makes me any more upset than to see a flag flying in complete tatters for no good reason. That is what I saw flying over this Wal-Mart store. I started by calling the store and got a succession of some rather rude people who couldn't have cared less about their flag. I demanded it be changed on the spot, was basically laughed at. It took me over an hour and finally got in touch with Wal-Mart headquarters in Bentonville Arkansas. Luckly the person there believed me when I told them that I was prepared to stay there for however long it took and would let the whole world know about this disrespectful display. An hour and forty five minutes later the flag was changed.

This was taken in Idaho while driving up the road. Sorry I couldn't crop it down it I think it would have lost some of it's statement & gotten real blurry.

GOOD FOR YOU!!! If I was there, I would have been standing right next to you...

My father (dec'd) was a Navy man and instilled in me the "respect for our American flag." It really hurts to see when people are disrespectful of "Our America" like this. I don't think flag etiquette is even known by the American people any more. Sad.

Sharing mine...honored with 1st place at 2010 County Fair and Honorable Mention at the 2010 Nebraska State Fair. (I'm glad someone noticed~) 'Nuff said.

Way to go! But it will not be too long before they fly the chinese flag.
I'm a Brit living(legally!) in the USA and have just purchased a replacement flag from Sears as a recent storm reduced my flag to tatters.

Flying by my driveway.

This is one of my favorite flag pics despite the exposure. It is located in a section of the Washington Crossing Park, right next to the Delaware River where apparently there was a camp of revolutionary soldiers. Only one of the graves is marked.
The flag is American of course, but not like the one of today.

I live down the road a few miles and If I could choose a place to rest when my old body quits this would be it.

btw...rockin robin...you sure did deserve those honors/awards. Great shot

As a USN veteran, son of a USN Vet, father of a USN Vet, firefighter and WTC worker - my respect and honor for our flag is very high. I really appreciate seeing posts like this! I'm working on a "Flags of the World Tade Center" collecting all the flags I have photographed over ten+ years at WTC. Not sure if it'll be a collage, composite triptych or what format, but there's a lot of flags onsite. But it will be the proudest photo/print of my life.
>> "Myrtle Beach" FYI - whenever I get a shot like that I flip it horizontal so that the star field is upper left per protocol. Not complaining, just a tip.
Thnx all - regardless of composition, exposure etc - every proud photo is an honor to our country, veterans, citizens.
