The Moon tonight with the ring around it.. anyone get a good shot of that?
The moon was GORGEOUS with that big ring around it! I tried and tried to get a good shot of it... but I failed. Any of you have any success?

Its kind of hazey here.
Aw, that's a bummer. It's clear here, but I'm not good enough to get a good shot at it

I live in the country, but still this is the best I got... I know.. not great :(
Lunar Halo
This is about the best shot I got of the wolf moon. Didn't see any ring
Guess I am a fair weather photographer. It is cold here tonight.... cant push the shutter with my mittens on :XD:
I saw it and tried, but had the wrong lens (a 600mm Sigma mirror) which, because of it being fixed length, was actually too close/large to capture the rings also and I completely misjudged it. Salt in the wounds was that I couldn't see my error until viewing the pics on my pc screen :-(

What were your setting for this image of the moon with halo, which isn't too bad. You are shooting a faint object and a bright moon so you did pretty good.
Cool to see others shots! Thanks!
What were your setting for this image of the moon with halo, which is pretty good too. It is hard to shoot two widely different brightnesses and get the middle ground.

Were you asking me? If so, I had my camera at 1/6 sec. exposure, f 3.5, ISO 2000
Faith'sMom sent her settings. I would like to compare them to the ones you used. I frequently shoot the moon but haven't had an opportunity to get shots with a ring.
