Tamron SP Adaptall 2 Lens Adapters

I've become a big fan of the Tamron SP Adaptall 2 Lens series. I'm using these with my Nikon D5100. Previously, all my purchases included the original Tamron Nikon F-mount adapter. I'm currently looking at a few others including the 17mm f3.5. I will need to purchase adapters for one or more of these. The original Tamron adapters are getting hard to come by and are going for around 50.00 U.S.. There are plenty of Chinese adapters available for less than 15.00 U.S.. I know the original Tamron adapters are designed to maintain the correct focal length with a 35mm SLR. The Chinese adapters are advertised as being for DSLR's and seem to lack the old indexing tab. Anyone have experience with these adapters?

I am new to the site. I am also looking for an adaptall 2 Nikon mount for my D7500. I tried the Chinese one purchased from Amazon and it did not work so I sent it back.

the lens I have is 20 + years old. Has a Pentax mount for my old film camera. It is a 500 1/8 mirror lens with a 2 power double attachment

Don’t say “Has a Pentax mount for my old film camera” because it will work on any Pentax K-mount camera built in the last 37 years, including one you could purchase today. If you no longer have use for it, maybe you could sell/give it to someone who does?

I realize you've said the Chinese
adapters are claimed to be made
for SLRs. Maybe true maybe not.

Even if true, the original version
is a weird contraption and I really
doubt that a cheap knock-off can
ever be trustworthy. If the knock
of is non-coupled, just a mount
flange adapter for totally manual
operation, then I'd trust it.

I use a Chinese adapter, made for
use on live view cameras, not for
SLRs. It does away with all of that
Rube Goldbergery. Just leave one
adapter on the body and you now
have a "Tamron Mount" camera.
The Tamron lenses, without any
Adaptal-2 devices attached
, can
be swapped quickly and securely.

If the Chinese knock-off is as dirt
simple as what I use, but has the
proper flange distance for an SLR,
and you're good with fully manual
operation, should be an OK option.

I realize you've said the Chinese br adapters are... (show quote)

I use the Tamron lenses with a Pentax system. Looking around the house, I have found four adapters, three of them on lenses - I'm fairly certain I have a couple more, but I cannot find them right now. All the ones I can find were made by Tamron, itself. Several are pure K-mount {fully manual} and several are KA-mount{can control aperture}, but lately I've been using all of them as pure K-mount because mine seems to be a little "flakey" attempting to control the aperture. I have jammed one of them so it works as my M42 lenses do - never opening the aperture so the lens is always used "stopped down".

Thanks. I bid on one that looks like it will work, and there are 2-3 more.
