Hi everyone, it has been a long winter here in Wisconsin.
But on the sunny side I got some shots of Pileated woodpeckers together. We feed birds year round, and once in a great while we would get a glimps of one of these big guys. But never to get a good picture. By the time I would get the camera and get back to the window puff it was gone. Well this is a-ha year with them.
So I just thought I would share some of them. Hope you enjoy!
Pileated Male Taken using my D7100 Nikon with a 70-300mm lens
Pair of Pileated woodpeckers. Using the same camera and lens
And this shot I got Friday afternoon, in the middle of one more of our snow storms.
It is really an a-ha year. Well done.

Thank you so much Bmac, I know I was one happy camper to get them both together.
Nice, I know what you mean, they can be very difficult to get close enough to, did you use a blind?

Kinda, I took them from my house one big blind. Open window with camo over it.
Can't beat that for comfort
