Long time photographer and new to UHH & I love the site. Great info and always something new to learn.
I am a dual system person. Main cameras are Canon 7D & SL-1 and Nikon D600 in SoCal and Canon 50D in MT. Just bought Canon 6D with 24-105 L. Other lenses to numerous to list.
Welcome to the Hog, Mike. Since you have a pool to draw from, may we see some of your work?
Welcome to the Hog, MikeFromMT. Sure hope that isn't a daily commute. So will the 6D be a SoCal or MT camera? ;)
The 5D is in MT so that I will always have one there. I use a Tamron 18-270 with it. The other cameras are used as my need (mood) dictates. I just got into FF a little over a year ago when Costco ran a sale on the D600. I only use the two kit lenses on that but I am really enjoying it. Since I am mostly a Canon person, that is the reason for my other cameras. The 6d will be used with my other Canon lenses. I lucked out by getting it on sale a couple of weeks ago. I saw the price and jumped on it. I have a good number of EF lenses as well as a couple of L lenses. As to the commute, Montana is my second home and I try to get there about every 6 to 8 weeks. As to posting pics. I travel a lot and need time to edit and post. That is also a big complaint of my wife who would like a few - really more than a few, printed.
I'm also from Montana and just joined about a month ago - I like it here. No drama to speak of, just NICE people who are helpful and answer questions.
My son is a Canon person and I am a Nikon person (I use a Nikon D5300), so we have a friendly family rivalry when it comes to photos.
My husband also complains about my not having photos printed, so I know what that's like as well. :)
Howdy neighbor. Looks like from your location you are just south of Missoula. I am the other direction 150 mi NW of Missoula at the other end of the Bitterroots just before they end at the ID border. God's country.

You got it! As far as I'm concerned, as long as it's the Bitterroot range, ANYWHERE along them is beautiful. You're in an amazing area too - we're more populated here.
