Hi we recently had a large bush fire just north of my home town of Orbost in Victoria Australia, it was 590k or 370miles in its perimeter, these photos where taken a couple of weeks after the fires where eliminated, and the rd re-opened, however all side rds, and tracks are still closed, and will be for some considerable time. these photos where taken this morning 3/4/14. while we where having some glorious RAIN, and don't we need it,
fortunately there was minimum property damage, and also no fatalities , except for the poor wild life who always suffer during times like these,

after the bush fire, all side rds closed

Spent time in Melbourne, I believe in 1963, and flew from Melbourne to Sydney. We were unable to see the ground during the entire flight, due to smoke from the wildfires at that time. I am glad you didn't suffer any personal damage, but the topography and vegetation, along with the climate in that part of Australia, leads to these events more regular than not. Now , when you head towards Brisbane, there are a whole different set of situations, just as going to Perth.. Hang in there, and the rain will make things right, for the next fire season. Being now in the Western United States, we feel your pain, except you don't get our earthquakes!! Best to you, and hoping all goes well, Mac

Very interesting photo's, it amazes me how mother nature always begins the regrowth process so quickly. Glad there were no human fatalities, thank you for sharing.+
