steve - any suggestions on how to improve our health care system . the present
one doesn't stack up with the rest of the developed world . single payer
might work , but that was axed by the conservatives because the insurance
companies couldn't make any money .

Mort, please don't ask steve any pertinent questions.

It interferes with his having fun, of just making fun, and doing NOTHING.

Singed up. (Supposedly.) That doesn't mean covered. It's a numbers game to try desperately to make Obummer look good. Good luck with that.

#1 Major hospitals like the Mayo Clinic are being left off health plans.

#2 One of the major cancer hospitals in the Dallas area has stopped accepting health insurance obtained through Obamacare. Why? Because insurance can be obtained without payment up front. In fact, a person can be "insured" and receive treatment without paying a dime for up to 90 days before being dropped from the plan. Cancer drugs are too expensive for a hospital to administer and then not get reimbursed from an insurance plan, and if the individual doesn't pay their premium, the insurance plan doesn't pay the claims, meaning the hospital is out the money. On the other hand, we signed my son up for insurance off line and sent in the first months premium WITH the application. This is the way it should be done.

#3 Doctors are no longer allowed to build their own doctor owned hospitals or clinics.

#4 The day of the private doctor is gone. They'll all be lumped into giant conglomerate hospitals. You'll be allowed your 15-20 minutes and will hardly be remembered.

#5 The problem with the required messaging system, where the patient is able to email his/her doctor is the person reading the message. Typically it's not the doctor, and the message may or may not be understood and completely passed on to the doctor. It's like the old game of "telephone." If you haven't experienced it yet you will.

Receiving something you don't pay for. I like that idea. I'm on my way to Atlanta to get my Porsche 911 Targa 4s. I'll let you know how that goes.
