Unfortunately politics is all about misleading the people. There are way too many politicians in government and not enough people with real life experience.
That's both sides of the pond and both sides of the left / right divide.

Politics is about whether your government tortures people lies to you invades countries etc. Saying there are too many politicians in government is like saying there are too many musicians in the orchestra.

The decision on whether or not you torture people or invade other countries is government. Persuading the people that this is the right thing to do, is politics. Keeping with the orchestra analogy, it's like having too many special guest appearances and not enough regular musicians to keep it all together.

That's a bit misleading as it's NOT the Senate report you've linked but it is what your title suggests. This is a Washington Post story and even they're not certain which side of the fence to play on. Here's a quote from their own story.
"Current and former agency officials, however, have privately described the study as marred by factual errors and misguided conclusions. Last month, in an indication of the level of tension between the CIA and the committee, each side accused the other of possible criminal violations in accessing each others computer systems during the course of the probe".
But I suppose there's enough in the story that some will show up ready for some more good ole Let's all bash America BS.

I really don't care how they got the information. In NAM I watched the ROK take people up in a chopper to get information. They were following orders and talking to these people will get us no where. To keep people safe we have to remove the gloves and cancel the PC talk.

the only problem is that unless you are talking time bomb on a bus situation the "glove off does not work as well as coercion I know it does not make sense but that what the evidence shows.
