I don't bitch about welfare to folks that need a helping hand, but I bitch about millions on welfare getting it just because they are lazy and know how to play the system.

Welfare is a word used by the writer of the piece.I personally would call it a tax write off.Nothing new here, the rich always make out.

AT least understand what you are talking about. The article is not about real welfare money. It is about tax deductions for anybody who needs them.
"First, welfare subsidies for private planes. The United States offers three kinds of subsidies to tycoons with private jets: accelerated tax write-offs, avoidance of personal taxes on the benefit by claiming that private aircraft are for security, and use of air traffic control paid for by chumps flying commercial."The private aircraft industry was going under several years ago. It was destroyed by a luxury tax passed in 1990. They hired lobbyist to get tax benefits for their industry.
Private jets landing at major airports pay fees for the use of the facilities.
W. Bush passed a 10% luxury tax in 1990 that was applied to "luxury" items. The idea was to make the rich pay their share. The result was that people just stopped buying yachts, private planes, fur coats, jewelry, etc. The tax was repealed 2 years later. Some States like California still maintain a luxury tax to "soak the rich".
Tax deductions are available to anyone, not just the rich. If you buy a $20, 000 car and use it for business you can write it off just like the rich guy does with his Mercedes.
The article is misleading and inaccurate in referring to tax deductions as welfare.
Judging by the standards the writer uses. my mortgage deduction is welfare . As is the Earned Income Credit.... By their reasoning, anything the government gives out is "Welfare".... Idiotic reasoning...
