I took these pictures of a snail this morning. I used a D800 with a Nikon 105 f2.8 macro lens.

I'm guessing you didn't need to use a fast shutter speed on them :)

Dennis these are very good captures. Very pleasant illumination and great detail on the snails from the shell to the skin with good composition to boot...

Considering how much this is cropped the detail is wonderful. You must love the 800.
