Thanks for your reply. I don't doubt a person could photo shop this into a bright sunny day but this is what I saw way out on the ice. REJ

There have been so many bad words lately about the 28-300. After 100 or so trys I think I found the 300mm sweet spot now I'll try 200mm. REJ

Well it isn't a Nikon 70-200 VR II but nothing else is either. I have had good luck with mine and as a "walk-around" lens, especially given the range it covers, I am more than happy with mine. ;)
