Here are some rather ordinary birds in different situations.
The sparrows seem to like being in a "cage." They're relatively safe in this tangle of metal. I thought the contrasts between the old wire fencing materials and the birds were interesting.

What a great shot of the sparrows staging in the wire. Your right they are protected from most things above. That's a keeper. WE have a feeder on our front patio and there can be 10 to 15 of these guys setting on my tire of the truck. just hanging before they get back to feed.

Good ones Vicki, I have seen sparrows in a stack of crab pots in the harbour, must feel safe as you say. They got to the middle of the pile and do not seem to get stuck.

Your artist's eye is very evident here, Vicki! Both are interesting, engaging photos. I love the composition, angle of view, light and contrasts of shapes and textures in #1.
