This should be interesting....
Hey, I got a kick out of this political ad, just wonder what some of out fellow UHH members think about it. Personally I consider myself as living in the so called "Flyover", I imagine that people from other parts of the country would have a completely different take on the ad than I.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0I2z9cCC9zsI think that the lesson here is, "If you can't shoot through it, don't pass it."
I'm a gun advocate, but I think this is overkill. It does get its point across but it's a bit redneck for me... even with the white shirt. You're not going to convince a liberal democrat of anything with this kind of ad. If they really want to sway the "undecided" they need to be more subtle. This ad is mostly just for the Tea Party folks.
This is kind of Duck Dynasty without beards.

I believe that the candidate is from Alabama, I am not so sure that he would run that ad in a demographic like North Carolina where there is a higher concentration of liberal voters and moderates.
But you make a good point, having lived in both urban and rural farming environments there is a big difference in how people would perceive this ad, no doubt that up north it would be laughed at, considered backwards and the candidate to be of no substance and diminished mental ability. In Alabama I am pretty sure the ad will be seen as "someone is finally sticking up for our interests."

North Florida and Central Florida can be quite a bit different than other parts of the state, heck any community that has a decent population of native Floridians is quite a bit different than other parts of the state. We actually have real down to earth cowboys here.... some would tell you that Cracker is a reference to them although I think that most who use that term today have no idea of its origin.

Yes I know I have been all over the state and once you get away from either coast it really changes.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0I2z9cCC9zsI am "flyover" and oppose Obamacare and support RKBA, so I am probably biased. On the other hand, I would not support very many Republicans. On the other other hand, I don't support any Dems either LOL.
The ad is entertaining. I don't think it will persuade anyone that was not already persuaded, though, do you? As a fund raiser for his campaign it could be very effective.
Mike
Well, good fun and games. But if the candidate shoots without hearing protection will he be able to hear what his constituents are saying?
And who picked up the paper scattered from the so-called shredder?
And just where are the market based solutions? Haven't we been experimenting with them since World War II? Hasn't worked too well for a lot of folks, wouldn't you say?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0I2z9cCC9zsCute, but doesn't really say anything about how he could do any better. All he says is to replace it with a market based solution which is what got us into this mess in the first place.

Well that may not say much to you... and I understand that.
But to others it says a lot.

It strokes the emotions in a very positive way for many folks who feel that DC operates in a bubble and does not listen to the people outside the northeast coastal corridor and the voices in the bubble that is DC.
