After a bunch of reading, research and advice from this thread, I am ready to pop for a Dell XPS, w8.1 64 bit, 2TB 16gb. Only one thing is bothering me, everyone seenms to be out of stock on the Dell XPS line except for B&H who is out of stock or has discontinued all of the Dell XPS line and shows what I spec'd out above as a new arrival in stock. Nobody has anything with a SSD. Dell is mid April to build anything.

Is Dell due for a re-fresh on the XPS line (maybe a XPS 8900 ??). Why are there none around in stock ???

The budget was less than $1000. I will wind up around $1100 @ B&H for the XPS 8700.

You might want to check out Costco. Looks like they have what you are looking for with the SSD drive

Thanks, that is getting out of my budget range for right now. I checked BJ's Club and they have it for $899. I am going to run over to my local store and see if there is one in stock. If so, will probably grab it there. Otherwise ordering at B&H before 2:00 so it will arrive tomorrow.

I get most of my computer stuff from Newegg. I did a quick build for with a 1TB and a 2TB hard drive (good for internal back-ups) along with an extra 8gb (total of 16gb) ram. The shipping won't be as fast as BH.

Not bad for the 'Limited' editions.
I put HHD/SSD hybrid drives in my XPS 8300. Zoom Zoom.
It would be worth the wait rather than a regular HHD.

It's all here !!! Both my Dell XPS and Canon Pixma printer arrived next day from B&H. I'll spend a rainy Sunday tomorrow putting it all together and getting it up and running !!!

Now I am coveting that 27" Dell monitor. Can I justify dumping the 23" that I haven't had 6 months ???

Don't dump the 23" go dual screen.
Also with the 27" you can preview an image the actual size of a 13x19" print from that Pro-100.

Teach me something here....how would a dual screen set up would be useful for post processing. Could you run Photoshop on one and Lightroom on the other ??? How do you hook up two monitors to the computer. One to DVI the other to HDMI ???

I just did an UHH search for "Dual Computer Monitors" and there is a whole bunch of info there for me to read tonight. BUT your comments will be appreciated.
