This neat hawk was working on union scale. He was perched on a branch about 50 feet in front of us. He waited while we took many perched images and then flew towards us and landed at our feet . . about 10 feet in front onto the leave strewn wooded floor.
He then proceeded to root out a salamander for breakfast.

I love the shot and am interested to know why you decided on b&w. Would the salamander not have stood out more in color?
