Saw the video - It's a gem.
B&H is taking orders already - 6K.
Not for the faint of heart.
I don't remember all the specs on Canon's 1DX but this would seem to eclipse it. Canon better have something else in the wings.

I've checked all my credit card balances, and I'm afraid I'll have to pass this one by.
Boy, I could have taken such great pictures with a new D4.

From what I read online, Canon's new camera will have 18MP vs 16 for Nikon and slightly faster continuous shooting - I think two more fps. Also, it will cost about $800 more, so it must be a better camera, right?
We'll have to wait for more details.

(Note: tongue firmly planted in cheek) Yea but this one will shoot continuous for 29 min 59 sec. Just think, when the D4 Mk 2 comes out it will shot continuous for a full 30 minutes. That should bring the price of the original D4s down to oh, say about $5995.00!

Well, 18 v 16 is meaningless and the slightly different frame rate is not that much..So it wounds like 2 pretty sweet units.
Anyone buying cameras at this level already has a sizable investment in the brand, so I doubt either one will cause a platform switch. It really sounds nice, but not enough to make an owner of any of three D3 models to have to upgrade. Video being the exception.
As a high speed race track certified instructor, I have told many students that buying a faster car will NOT make you a better driver ....
In this case, spending $6,000 or more on a new body will not make you a better photographer.
