When I go out shooting, I carry 2 cameras and a couple extra lenses. What do you guys recommend using to carry them instead of the camera strap? I have heard about some type of harness, but know nothing about them.

Do you 'alternately' use both cameras, or primarily just one, with the second in 'standby'?

Two camera strap systems: http://www.google.com/search?q=two+camera+strap&lr=&hl=en&as_qdr=all&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=cFwzU5-bB_e-sQTipoLQDQ&ved=0CHMQsAQ&biw=1280&bih=675#facrc=_&imgdii=_&imgrc=emwOpy_ZlrTMpM%253A%3B3N705kv74oqASM%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fpetapixel.com%252Fassets%252Fuploads%252F2013%252F06%252FCanon-EOS-3D-camera-2.jpg%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fpetapixel.com%252F2013%252F06%252F17%252Fcanon-3d-high-megapixel-dslr-camera-spotted-in-the-wild%252F%3B491%3B467

If you have DSLR's, the Optech strap is great. It goes over your shoulders and has a place on each side to hook your camera. It attaches to the regular holders that your regular camera strap hooks too. Very safe and easy on the back. I really like mine and they are very inexpensive!

Nikon D200 and D7000. The D7000 usually has a Sigma 24-105 on it and the D200 has either a Tamron 70-200 2.8 or Nikon 300 f4.

I use them both about equally, depending on what I run across.

Then a two camera strap system is probably best. Look here:

I, too, strongly recommend the OpTechUSA dual harness. I've had mine for a couple of months and have been very happy with it. Previously I used two straps across my chest -- picture an old Bandito with crossed bandoliers. :D

With this harness arrangement, I keep the one I'm more likely to use on my right side, and the less-likely-to-be-used on my left. It's about a 60/40 ratio, so both cameras get plenty of action.

Any other suggestions?

I use a 3 in. wide military web belt with suspenders. Attached to this belt I have a Tamrac lens case that fits a Canon 70-200 F4 W/1.4X with a Canon 60D holster style. I also have a 50D on a 300 2.8 W/2X on a monopod over my shoulder - tethered to my body with a neckstrap. When using the 60D, I either set the monopod and 50D on the ground or leave it hang from the tether. Also on the belt is a removeable short monopod for low angle shots.

I bet you have trouble getting through tight openings with all that.

Maybe - but I go where no tripod dares to go ...... ;-) If I feel I need a macro or wide angle lens for some odd reason I will have that in a Tamrac case on the belt also. I should also mention that this all goes over a military type vest with many pockets to hold various small stuff like filters ect.

I use the Optech Double Sling -- very comfortable and does NOT attach to the tripod sockets. http://optechusa.com/double-sling.html

With the D200, will you mount the camera or the lens on the harness? Does that affect how any of the harnesses are used?
