I took a few pics while walking the beach with my wife and thought I'd share a couple with you. I printed pics and gave them to the gals. They loved it!
We're back in PA now but heading back to Fla in 19 days...can't wait!

Thanks Roxie!
We're kinda new in Florida, having bought last September. I've been trying to find an alligator in the wild but it's almost like trying to find someone who is a native Floridean.
Haven't seen any in the wild, only their eyes at night in the waterway! That was a thrill, though a little scary. We looked with flashlights.

Nice Frank! But you aren't going to find Aligators at the beach!!! But if you told your wife that, I'll go alone with it as long as you keep show these type of pictures.:):):)

Oh, did you come back to snow? 2" here today.:)
Just head down to Myacka City state park. You can see and photograph all the gators you want. Or come north a couple of miles to Sun City Center and I will take you on the golf cart to meet some up close and personal !!!!!

Best place I have been to be sure to see gators is the Circle B Bar ranch. It would be quite a trip for you as it is in Lakeland, but if you have the time it is worth it. Lots of birds, too. Welcome to Florida, by the way.

When I was a youngster, we lived rather close to there. (Sun City/ Sun City Ctr) It was where we did all of our shopping and my parents played golf. We lived in a little place called Balm, which is still on the map, but not a big town. There are still a lot of gators there!
I agree .... Circle B Bar Reserve - Lakeland Area. Pack a picnic lunch and make a day of it. One question, why would you desert Florida to return to PA during the winter? Stay in Florida and go back to PA in the spring for a visit :-)

Head down towards the Everglades - plenty of 'gators there! But you are also in manatee country - all the springs get their share of manatees during the cooler months. They are lots of fun to see also.

Hello!
Thanks for all your advice on locations to see alligators.
We saw manatees at the Tampa Power Generation Station...lots of them!

ooops....
I hit "send" by mistake.
I'll remember to put some more beach pics up for Erv.
The printer is at our friends' beach home in Siesta Key.
Anna Maria...… lived here for 27 years...… beautiful spot nice southern hospitality.... After the move from Hawaii and a couple years later we picked the Gulf...It was the correct decision....If you are hunting for crystal clear touriquise water.... lack of taxes..... Manatee County has an objective...save the land...If you like photograph and birds of prey......or any bird you could imagine that lives in a salt marsh/mangrove...this is the place. I can see Hemmingway standing on the beach with a beautiful sunset .To me its my special place. Does anyone remember the Perfect Storm. Part of the crew lived in Cortez.
I want to wish everyone has good health and makes it through.
