For Sylvias: The Cheetahs

These were shot on our last of 20 drives. This was a cheetah mom with two adolescent cubs (could not tell gender.) I'm glad I caught a good termite mound. They are everywhere on the savannah.

I particularly like the way the profile pic of Mom shows how her "paint job" blends.

Just 50 minutes after the last shot here, we discovered my leopard No2. from an earlier thread.

Thank you so much Dave, stunning shots! Such graceful cats. Lucky you to see a family. Love number two, they are so photogenic. Downloads a must see.
Did you travel far in the 50 minutes when you saw the Leopard ?
The termite mounds are huge, saw lots on my travels and when you think of the size of those tiny termites building them !!
   :-D

My pleasure, Sylvia. We'd had two flat tires in the prior two days, so we were a little uneasy as we went cross country over rough terrain to follow them. But it turned out so well.

The drivers were on the radio telling each other of their finds. So we headed for the leopard and the other vehicle came to the cheetahs. I do not remember travelling too far to find the leopard but it could have been 2-3 miles.

rlaugh - given the quality of your posts, I value your approval. That was one of several I had to choose from of the cubs up on the fallen tree. Reminded me of normal kitten behavior, rubbing against each other.
