KLR - my brother talked me into it. I really like the bike! You ride tall on it.

Taken with sun behind the bike, flash in front, reflector on the side. Then a variety of exposures and used PS to darken the background and get it to glow a little bit - easier this way than with wax - but might have over-done-it.

Me too, Erv. Haven't ridden in twenty years but I still look at every bike the goes by with some degree of envy. I am way too old to ever ride again but I surely had fun when I did. :hunf:

gitchigumi, your avatar cracks me up! yes, 650, but I've decided the image is too dark. I think when you PP, you should always wait a while to see if you still like it.

thanks Erv, you look younger than me, but my skiing days are behind me.

OLFrank, I love those big water birds that live in your neighborhood!

do you think it would do well on a long road trip? would it be comfortable for an all day ride?

I just noticed where you live Jim! OMG, that is the place a bike like this should live. My brother lives in Utah and he takes his KLR on long road trips all the time. This bike is easy to work on and people take them all over the world. The seat can use a cushion though .. but that would make you sit taller still and look funny.

I see a lot of people riding them up from the states in the summer with the hard bags on.
My latest crazy thought is buying one in Washington and riding it back to Alaska. most likely it wont happen, but you never know!

That would be one cool trip. You can haul a nice load on them. And for what you get, the bikes are a fairly good deal, probably the cheapest 650 available. But I'm thinking about all the back roads you must have in Alaska... If you live in a place like that, take advantage of it!!!!

LOL! I turn 63 this year. It isn't the age so much. I just like my comfort more now days.:):) I did all 50 states on a Honda 450 and then a Honda 750. Those were 4 great summers. Hope to do some rambling around soon with the truck and a tear drop behind it.:)

we really don't have that many back roads. it would be more like off road. there are lots of 4wheeler trails though.
