A little difficult to avoid, with the multi-element lenses. But by experimenting with lower exposures, you can reduce the effects.

Gaye, if you think the lens flare is undesirable you can easily edit out the spot.

I was going to suggest the same thing, just edit it out.

OK sinatraman, you got to "kick it off". I was going to but you got there first. There are a number of folks out there who think that orbs are a manifestation of spirits. Don't know myself but we had odd commings and goings during the time our neighbor was in the late phases of his "Passing" (Rest in peace my friend). Now that he is gone I haven't found an orb on any one of my photos for at least 6 months.

So i still have to say that the green dot is the death star dropping out of stealth mode. Im sure the national enquirer would pay a preety penny.!!!!

Have you had that "spot" on pictures before? It's the color of it that has me intrigued!

the more i look at your photos the more i actualy like the green dot. I being slow of brain finaly caught the shilouettes of the trees in the foreground. if you could ligten up the photos so that the shillouettes would be more distinct it would improve the impact tremendously

I don't think it's lens flare. Lens flare is usually just bright with no detail, and it has the shape of your aperture. I copied it to my computer and was looking at it closer. It looks too "perfectly" round, and it has markings on it like the moon has. I think it may be a reflection of the moon on one of your elements and it exposed some how. You didn't take this through a window did you?

But would a moon reflection be green? Wouldn't there be some glare somewhere if even on a tiny part of the picture if was taken through a window?

Not sure, just guessing. When you look at your lens with a light above it, you see the lights in different colors. That's caused by the color coatings on your lens. I was wondering if that's what this was. I'm only guessing, I've never seen anything like it. I've seen lens flare before, but it didn't look like this either.
