This might be interesting. What books have you read that have influenced your way of thinking. For me, two that instantly come to mind are Animal Farm and 1984, both by George Orwell. Should be required reading in all schools.

The most influencial book for more was probably Steve Martins "Cruel Shoes", which explains the twisted look I have into life.

Same here, books don't influence me too much, a good movie does. Like your avatar, you must be from the 60's

My list would be too long to print here.... Bible, Classics, Humor, History, Biography, everything. I read 1-2 per month and every one has "influenced" me to some degree. Some profoundly, some just to help me answer Jeopardy questions.

Golly - all over the place. Some of the more recent reads -
Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand. Stiff - the curious life of human Cadavers by Mary Roach. Zero Day by David Baldacci. Simpelxity by Jeffrey Kluger. Animals make us Human by Temple Grandin..............and so on. At present I am reading The Time of our Lives by Tom Brokow and War Horse by Michael Morpurge and yes this is the movie that is out now. Saw the play in London last year, actually a childrens book based on the history of using {often killing and abusing} horses in WWI - highly recommend at least learning the history. The play will be on tour this summer in the US

The Bible (God's instruction book for life) especially Joesph and his brothers, and peter stepping out of the boat. William Manchester's "The Lion in winter" about winston churchill in the 30's refusing to compromise on his principals!!!! Photography books that influenced me are both by bryan peterson "understanding exposure" and especially "learning to see creatively" which really impacted my work. also any books by bruce catton on US Grant (another of my heros)

I loved "Stiff". My favorite chapter was the Plastic Surgery seminar. Her descriptions were awesome.

My instant reaction was THE WALL by Hersey
then into my mind flowed ATLAS SHRUGGED A. Rand

so many characters and stories. I have read many already mentioned

Helter Skelter...was that Bugliosi

To Kill a Mockingbird

current read...Paper Garden An Artist (begins her life's work) At 72 by Molly Peacock

Some leave more of an imprint than others..some are just pure enjoyment.

I love a good story. Book, Movie, Picture
