Wild Animals, Not So Wild

A discussion on the difference between animals shot in the wild and animals shot in captivity prompted these. Not many of us will ever go on safari, so we shoot what we can, when and where we can.

The lion reminds me of Aslan from The Chronicles of Narnia. Beautiful animal!

So did I, but was a tough shoot. Their faces are fantastic but they they tend to flash their rear (which is pretty bright as well)

At the San Diego Zoo, you have to shoot down, and they rarely look up. I mostly have downward shots of red butts.

At zoo's I get many opportunites to shoot rear-ends of the animals. Yes, I do take those pictures. For scrapbookers of animals, the last page of the album is "the end" (you get the concept).

Looks just like Rafiki and Mufasa from the Lion King. Can't remember elephant names. Nice color on the mandrill
