Bible thumpers beware: Gravitational Waves from Big Bang Detected. This should get Alan Gupth the Nobel Prize.

I curious as to why you say Bible thumpers beware ....

Is the glass not half empty, I know it is half full.

The more of this science stuff I see the more of a believer I become. Even the formation of the Moon, which if it wasn't there, would mean were not here. Even with all the plants they have found to date, the not one is able support life. Think about it.

And we still are in our infinitely small space of OUR Universe as part of a Multiverse that the string theory cannot even conceive.

I understand where you are coming from, but with an opposite view. The more Bible thumpers try to push a literal interpretation of the Bible the more I tend to shy away.

Regarding "all the planets they have found to date" doesn't even come close to all of the planets out there, and even if life were discovered on another planet, Bible thumpers would have a Godly explanation for it.

Come on Bill. You really think there isn't a planet in our Universe that can support life.
Estimates say that there are literally billions and billions of planets (10 to the 24th Power).
Of all those planets, it would be inconceivable that there is no life on any of them.

Yep, in 10 years there may be new evidence that either supports or does not support the theory of the Big Bang, but that is the way science works.

Science is not a fixed and static thing like the Bible, which does not change with new evidence (try to change the Bible and bad things can happen; Last 3-4 verses in Revelations). But be not fooled, the Bible is constantly being interpreted in many different ways.

Hilarious. I love the one where W.C. Fields says, "I cook with wine; sometimes I even add it to the food.

What is the definition of a "Bible Thumper?

I'm a person who believes the Bible, but I've never "thumped" a Bible. What am I missing?

It is neither conceivable or inconceivable to me... and in actuality it doesn't concern me one way or the other...

As a believer I believe God made this earth,,,, if he made others it is fine with me, it was his business. I did watch some news yesterday that I assume was concerned with the URL cited above.... And although I could not understand much of what he was talking about, I was quite amused when he said that the Edges of the "Big Bang" thingy that was discovered could be pulled together or apart to change something or other....

When I managed to PULL myself together, I changed the channel...

That's the most intelligent thing that Frank ever posted!
