Hawk Report Update

We posted a mystery Hawk for ID by you Hogs and got lots of responses but we found another Bird Book with more Hawks detailed. Now it looks more like a Northern Goshawk. What do you think?

Sharp-shinned or a Coopers. Need a better look at the tail. General size description would be helpful.

Goshawk (18" to 24" ) is a very large hawk. Twice the size that you stated in original post.

It appears to be a Coopers Hawk to me, note the dark "cap" on head. :-)

It's not a goshawk. I would say it's a cooper's.

My vote is Cooper's. The pattern and coloration of the chest feathers are what I am basing my vote on. Size is too big for Sharp shinned in my option.
