It makes a nice small image but it does not really hold up to being enlarged.
Cropping is close to correct, but it's a little too close on top and not close enough on the right.
At f/11, you would not have gained much with a smaller aperture but the camera should have been lined up to get the stem in focus. The background is far enough away that it would have remained as we see it.
There will be plenty more available soon so you should be able to refine your technique.

Thank you for your thoughts. As you can see, a lot of pixels remain. That is what it is - a small image. For web use, I no longer use high quality images. I simply do not generally make larger JPGs available. Regarding the empty space, I would leave it pretty much the same. I have no intention of reshooting this image. The focus has been defined as I wanted it - only emerging the leaf head in focus. On my image processing monitor, it is very sharp and the colors are as I remember them.
I appreciate your opinions as being valuable, but they are different than my concept. Just an image with no story beyond what you see and no WOW factor desired. A little view of nature emerging.
