Perhaps not impressed or in awe but I did find it fascinating. I have always thought it great fun and a learning experience to try different things that are not in the realm of so called "normal".

Somebody must have opened his stocking this year to only find, yet again, a lump of coal. Ever the pessimist.

I, for one, am impressed. Maybe not in awe, but impressed none the less.

Sure the quality of the final product leaves a bit to be desired. Hence the lack of "awe".

What is impressive?

1. The artist had a vision for a piece that would take one year to complete.

2. The amount of patience required in a year long piece of work.

3. The "camera" lasted a year through rain, snow, and a brutal Toronto winter.

4. The "camera" made it one year without without bumped, stolen or blocked.

5. As an amateur astronomer, I enjoyed seeing the position of the sun throughout the year, all captured on one print.

6. The fact that after a year of "work", to preserve the shot, the artist had one chance to capture (and destroy) the image in one fell swoop. Five seconds of "preservation" could have negated what took a year to make.

7. etc., etc.

I could go on, but I have some sweets from my stocking that are calling my name right now.

Very cool.
The 6 month exposures do look better, the sun is only covering the area once in a 6 month exposure. Pretty cool to get an image that shows the track of the sun...

Hmmm..

I got the same picture by not using a tripod, using a too-slow shutter speed and underexposing...and it only took about 2 minutes.

Before you flame me I was kidding.

Critiquing and sarcasm are not the same thing. Perhaps we should all be a little more civil on this site. "If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all".

How can this not be amazing? Maybe I am just a "simple" person, but this took a lot of patience and a real passion. A whole Year in one photo!

Because the picture it produced isn't amazing...it's just not impressive to some of us.

No biggie...to each his own.
