Thank you Db, yes, facial expression in an action shot really adds to the story.

The only thing I do not like about the composition is the runner's hand up to the mouth. And look at that pretentious war paint on the catcher's face. Otherwise, this is a good action shot.

Now for what I do not like: the highly stylized printing. The dark and gritty overall appearance and very muted colors. The over-lightening of the ball with poor masking. Way too artificial and heavy handed. The highlighting of the runner's right shoulder. The annoying copyright.

Nicely done! I like the intensity, I really never thought of the black paint that kids wear under the eyes that helps reflection as war paint, but I think I'll use the quote next time
at a little league game. I understand the fist in the face and it conveys to me that the runner is running as fast as he can. The eyes are what drew me in! It is a bit over processed for my taste, but I like it a lot. Wish I could catch an image like that with the grand kids..

Yes, the runners hand is annoying to me also, but as you can see there is and was nothing I could do about that. Again, the war paint ..... nothing I can do about.

As for you say highly stylized printing, dark and gritty overall appearance and very muted colors ...... oh well, its not for everyone and I do appreciate the comments and for you at least taking a look, thank you. Oh and the annoying watermark ...... I'm pleased with it.

Thank you for your comment and taking a look. Yes, it is a bit over processed. Practice make perfect ??? If there was or is perfect.

I forgot to add that the boy's expression and the catcher reminded me of a present day Norman Rockwell. You keep the processing just as you feel it. That seems to makes sense and makes you the author.
Matt Kloskowski has a free preset called the "300 Look" that is pretty cool and works great. He has it in hard, medium or light. An updated one is on page 5 of his presets. I don't use many LR presets, but I do like many of Matt's.

"You keep shooting, as Bryan Peterson would say.

Thank you bedgmon, I really do appreciate the positive and encouraging response. I do plan on processing just as before. This is what I like and for those that don't .... well, I'll just leave it at that. Thank you for the link, I will have to give that a try. Dave
