Sorry had to show you this one- it's not my pic, but it's so cool.
I brought one home like Blue fang and let him loose in the house- they don't bite and seem to be smart- he went from being the size of a penny to almost the size of a fifty cent piece in about three months! They have eyes all the way around- the front one are the best/normal vision and the others are like motion detectors. ALL YOU NEVER WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT SPIDEYS. LOL. CU round!

First...Welcome Fidgit...you are kinda like me...an aim and shoot kinda person, but have decided that I need to learn more about what I am doing... Why?...I dont know...but I sure like your pics... Now RParker...you let this spider just have the run of your house or keep it in a terrarium or something? I mean the blue fang not the one with the kaleidescope eyes...! I am not a spider person...would soon as have a snake loose amongus! but it would have been interesting to see it grow...You 2 posted some pretty awesome pics! Fidgit...keep posting...! You and I will have to compare critter pics...! I like them too...well maybe not the spiders...!

I had found the spider in a field here in FL, and had coaxed him onto my hand. He seemed cool, he would look at me, and when others around me talked he would turn to look at them- so I put him in a Dixie cup with a napkin/rubber band on top and brought him home and turned him loose! Didn't see him for almost a month, then saw him off and on for the next month, then didn't see him for another month- So I went looking for him and found his exoskeleton in a large Queen Ann's helmet (shell), so I figured he had died...then I saw him a week later the size of a 50 cent piece (New Improved SPIDER)! I let him out. (lol). His name was Rocko.

You clearly have a lot of potential. Keep going. Learn, learn, and keep learning. You have a natural ability. That is more then most people.
Critique: First one throw away, sorry no good.
Second: step back, watch your negitive space. You have the same problem I have. It's a great picture in the camera, but camera's shoots differently then what we print. So what type of camera do you use? What is the picture frame? 2x3, 3x4 etc.
Third picture is great, just needs a little croping and some vignetting.
So if your really serious about getting into photography, skip the free stuff if you can afford it. Buy photoshop and lightroom. ( If your a student, you can get it for $169.00 and $59.00). Then buy the books from Kelby. No one else. If budget permits, take a quick coruse with a local camera store or community college.
Keep going, you have great potential. Rach

The first flower is called a snapdragon. If you put your fingers on either side of it an press in the dragons mouth will open. Try it...something everyone should do at least once. The second photo is wonderful. Great focus on the plant, water drops, and background. I love how the water drops show the image of the plants in the background.
The colors and composition are also very well done. The third photo...that is one creepy looking spider. Perfect focus on background and on foreground. Wonderful colors, the blue in the background goes so well with his little fangs. You are quite talented.
