Of course, there are other features to be considered, but here we have one set of tests.

If you're looking at buying one or the other for photo storage and editing, the Mac is the hands down winner. Have you ever gone to the Dell store? Exactly! When you call Apple you speak with someone in the US who knows Apple and if he/she doesn't how to solve your problem, will get you someone who does. I've dealt with both Dell and Apple support and Dell is a joke!

I have a 13" MBP. Very nice. One thing the comparison didn't mention is how each will hold up over the years. And, as you said, Apple support is excellent.

After years of working in IT, I can tell you first-hand that Dell Tech Support is NOT in Austin!
If you can afford it, the Macbook Pro is the best choice.

When I had a Dell, I seemed to always get a "Jason!"

I think you'll really like the Retina Display, I had mine at the shop and bought another w/o Retina and *really* missed my original one. Good luck with whichever computer you decide upon.

I have a 13" MBP I bought as a refurb, and I have no intention of even looking at a Retina display.

I was surprised that they were the same price, since Apple has a reputation for high prices.
