Abstract Photography is unlike most other types of photographic rules-such as composition and accurate focus-hold NO VALUES!
Abstract Photography uses creative imagination to compose stunning works of Art. Abstraction in photography-you create something that you feel. The Artist goes beyond the info he or she sees in the lens and gives it a new meaning by taking it out of context. An abstracted image usually does NOT represent a common object ,but is more about lines, color and other visual elements present. Abstraction in photography moves beyond what you see to create something that you feel.
Looking forward to what you create and as always, have some fun!
This, I constered a FLOP- but...I loved the colors and patterns so I didn't destroy. Sunrise on a winter's morn-through the trees
The same goes for this image!

I like that these are done "in camera" which can be a great way to get abstracts! Here are a few to start with.

Here is one I did with my D90. I like the colors and inter action of the angles in it.

Very interesting topic and I like your first shot. Have a few ideas...but not for tonight :(
Abstract by definition is hard to explain, sometimes you just gotta be there.
These are done by moving the camera during exposure or zooming in or out while exposing. It can create some very interesting shots.

This one was blurred because I was panning and could not get the camera to focus quick enough...so glad I didn't delete it! LOL!
This one was on a tripod and I did a 4 second exposure and after about 2 seconds I zoomed in slowly

Well, I did find some quick ones for tonight, Judy.
Shadows and reflections from a dock
The dock
Close up of a hanging restaurant light
Zoomed church window
A zoomed bed spring

a formal aspect of line and color
I know you want us to use our cameras alone right? I love creating digital art but I am using photoshop and filters and combining photos .....here are some digital art pieces I have created....but tomorrow I will try to use my camera and see what I can do solely with it...hope its ok to diverge a little to show these though...
