This is a photo of a section of the Union Pacific rail yard here in my hometown. The building to the upper right is the old repair building which has now been bought by an independent repair business. Just below it is the turntable, used to select which of the numbered doors to send each unit to. Which works better? The color or B&W version?

I just looked at these in the download version and there is a lot of noise in them. I didn't see that before processing them.

Pretty cool Whuff, ISO 100 and on a tripod about 20 seconds at f/8 would get rid of that noise.

Did that old turntable pit have an actual roundhouse at one time?
Our railroad had a couple Roundhouses that almost made complete 360's

I don't think so this building is all I ever saw in the last 50 years.
Thanks for the tip. I'll go back and try some different shots after it warms up.

I really like the one washed in orange light as that is the way rail and bus yards look at night.

since it is an industrial scene, the b & w works for me; but i prefer b & w to color. both pictures are very nice.

I liked the B&W treatment better too but wanted others opinions. Thanks for all the feedback.

B&W looks more like what you would see in person. Looks better.
