So I have a problem using my lcd viewing screen while in direct sunlight. I'm sure this is true with other users (Nikon & other manufacturers). Cell phones too same problem. I'm sure this holds true to other users as well. How does one alleviate the problem?

I use a Hoodman HoodLoupe 3.0 to view my LCD screen in bright sunlight,
and to view recently captured images for proper focus, exposure, etc.

I have experienced similar problems ... the worse is that I like to use the articulating screen for over-head shots and canidid portrtaites, on occasion .. the hood does not help.

Not much! Maybe weight loss, regrowing hair, living to be 125 - things like that.
