I think it's a "Brown Widow Spider". Related to the Black Widow, but much more shy, less apt to bite, and not very poisonous. They're found in the Southeast US with a few showing up recently in the Southwest. If you are in hiding in the Northeast it's probably another species.

Most spiders in the United States aren't dangerous, preferring to escape and hide and only biting as a last resort. Even then, most bites are not dangerous or too painful. The painful bites, like from the large wolf spider that bit me (I stepped on it barefoot on a lawn) hurt like the dickens for a half hour or so but no permanent harm was done. Spiders do help keep your house and yard free of vermin like roaches, plant eating insects, mosquitoes, flies, etc. so the only ones I kill are the Black Widows.

North TX, It has everything you describe I think you are exactly right.
They are gathered out in the abandoned chicken house. New laws have formed that prohibit the chickens within 15 ft. of the adjacent property. :? I was hunting/gathering food for Biteme.

I had grabbed the spider to throw him into a container. I am glad it was not a Black widow but I would have knew if it was black and avoided it.
It seemed the had became frans but last night Biteme severed the head and limbs of the spider for dinner. :-) the abdomen seems to be stored for further consumption :-o

I apologize for the poor photography in this example.
The True Macro environment creates a unique challenge in my studies of photography. My skills and equipment are inferior at this time.

My goal is to reach a level acceptable to reinter the True Macro section for there help in perfecting macro skills that will enhance my 3D photography portfolio. 8-)
( want to take a 3D picture good enough for 72yroldnickelodeon)
 Soon ;-)
