My lights came back to life after being buried with 18 inches of snow.

Very nice effect. They look good when they light up under the snow, but that doesn't work with solar lights.

Urban myth, Jerry! I made a similar post last year using solar light that I bought from big lots at 50 cents each A couple of them are still working!

When mine are under the snow for too long, the batteries don't get charged,, and they stay dark.

You're right Jerry. These are solar lights that stayed dark until the snow melted

The solar lights are so much better. I hated having to deal with the wires coming loose and having to reset the timer every time the electricity went off.

I went solar because the chipmunks wanted their nest where my electric wires were. Every time the lights went out I knew that a chippy had been executed. This is the second winter for these $1.79 WalMart lights.

The price has come way down. I get them when they're on sale, but the styles always change.
