I've been shooting sailboats with small cameras for 28 years and loving it. Latest camera is a Canon S130 pocket camera. Never used a tripod as it wouldn't help in a small boat. Some pix are blurry but I am amazed how well this little camera does. It literally lives in my pocket and I can shoot with one hand and steer my boat (sail or outboard coach boat) with the other.

Heading out to sail at Bowdoin
Welcome to the group Coach Ken.
I love the "Practice" photo...the others just show that sailing in New England aint for sissies! Post as many as you got. These are great.
I used to participate in Block Island race week, of course it's a little warmer up there in the summer. Nice Pics.
Yes, college sailing can be chilly, particularly in Spring (March & April) but my next gig is Key West Race Week this January
Farr 40s at Key West 2009
I really like the last photo (Farr 40s...). Maritime fog, green water, definately a mood and action shot.
As a sailor I too love the open water. Your pics have stirred that feeling again. I have a 31 foot Kenner Privateer ...ketch.
Also sailed for years on Lake Superior in Northern WI and was involved in NorthCoastCommunity Sailing, a program teaching young sailors. We have tons of sailing pictures on our website. Also instructed at local charter company. Thanks for the pics!
Hi Coach, glad you are here. I really liked the practice photo and the last one that is so moody, great. Thanks for sharing and look forward to seeing more.
Great pictures and glad to see you here.
Sword fighting sails. This one is great. Love it.
