Damn mole in my backyard is driving me crazy... Short of hiring someone to trap it, anyone have any solutions ?

At the risk of having the Animal Rights League, ACLU, or some other organization, dare I suggest 'poison peanuts' like we used to use years ago?

I fully understand your reasoning. Of course, the 'peanuts' used to be implanted deep into the tunnels of the moles, using a probe to create a hole, but then dogs have been known to dig for things. Best to be safe and put up with the moles till a better solution appears.

The big box lumber store have a solar powered gadget in the lawn and garden center that creates a vibration that seems to drive them away. My neighbors had vole infestations in their yards and I installed a couple of them and after two years still no moles or voles in my yard. if you like, when it stops sleeting, I'll go out and take a picture of one.

I've been a country boy my whole life and have used this trap for years. It never fails, of course that assumes you've found an active run.

Find their hole, pour some gasoline in it, and light a match. Guaranteed.

The good old fashioned moles traps with the spikes work pretty good. Amazing how much damage one mole can do.

If you have childrens windmills (plastic things on a long stick) plant it in the run and let the wind vibrate it....never tried it but apparently it works (or you give them to your grandkids)
