1. They live here. You don't.

2. If you don't want their hair on your clothes, stay off the furniture.

3. I like my pet better than I like most people.

4. To you, it's an animal. To me, she is an adopted son/daughter who is short, hairy, walks on all fours and doesn't speak clearly.

5. Dogs and cats are better than kids. They eat less, don't ask for money all the time, are easier to train, usually come when called, never drive your car, don't hang out with drug-using friends, don't smoke or drink, don't worry about buying the latest fashions, don't wear your clothes, don't need a gazillion dollars for college, and if they get pregnant, you can sell the results.

I can tolerate pet owners up to a point. If they express this kind of attitude, it's probably time to leave.

I am the cat guy and I love cats very much all my life. My indoor cats are much cheaper than wife & kids or husband because these kids are the world's most expensive pets are of all on this planet before leaving their parents' nests! Yup, this is true.

I can tolerate non-pet-owners to a point, myself! :-)
Just kidding- I've seen these rules on many fridges of friends and I couldn't agree more! Too funny. Thanks for re-sharing.
(My friends and I share a belief that pet hair on clothing isn't gross; it's a way of identifying a strangers' love for the furries!)

Add this one....

Do not pick things up off the floor like pillows or something you think is trash that I am too lazy to deal with. They are toys and a bed and they keep my kitteh/ googie busy and happy for hours. Do your own housekeeping and I'll do mine.

My wife & I participate in the National St.Bernard Rescue organization. To say pet hair is a way of life would be an understatement. Friends that support us always prepare for their visit by wearing older clothes. True, we do more visiting others than vice versa.

If pets offend you or are repulsive to you, you are missing one of the joys of life. However pet owners can take some considerate steps when company is coming over.

If that comment was directed at me, you missed my point entirely. I like pets. I have a dog. She sheds on the furniture. She's handy to have around, particularly when one needs to avoid acknowledging ownership of a fart.

My comment about "it's probably time to leave" had to do with the pet owner's attitude toward the visitor, not with the pet.

Our first dog was a Saint. He was among the most gentle of all furry critters.

When approaching our crawling baby girl, he would get down on his tummy to care for her. Being covered with dog spit did not seem to bother her.

Now...talk about the descent of a man. Our most recent pooch is a Yorkie.

Keep up your, blessed, work of finding new homes for the orphans.

Well then, the only thing that comes to my mind is : Don't let the door slam too hard on your ass as you leave.............
