Taxpayers Fund Video Promoting S&M to Teens

TAXPAYERS FUND PLANNED PARENTHOOD VIDEO WHICH TEACHES THE JOYS OF SADOMASOCHISM TO TEENS
MARCH 5, 2014 COACH COLLINS
by Doug Book, editor

Planned Parenthood of Northern New England (PPNNE), which scored $2.75 million in federal grants during 2012, has used a portion of its taxpayer funding to produce and post online “…a video specifically aimed at teenagers that promotes bondage and sadomasochism.”

On its “For Teens” page, PPNNE claims the organization is “…dedicated to protecting the sexual health of teens by providing accurate information, opportunities to explore and establish beliefs and attitudes, and the skills to communicate their needs.” And what better way to “protect sexual health” than with a video which exalts sexual perversion, especially when hosted by giggles groupie Laci Green, a self described “…22 year old San-Franciscan and…Sex educator, video blogger, blog blogger, crisis counselor, social scientist, asparagus lover & artichoke dipper.”

The joyful presentation of idiocy on the internet is hardly a new story. But it should not be funded with money confiscated from unwilling taxpayers. In late February, CNSNews.com called the Burlington office of PPNNE and asked that the following question be relayed to the group’s president and CEO Meagan Gallagher: “Why is it appropriate for a federally funded organization to produce a video that promotes bondage, sadism and masochism to teens?” The Planned Parenthood employee who answered the call said that “…the organization would not be commenting and then hung up the phone.”

Patterico of Patterico’s Pontifications is fervently opposed to taxpayers having to foot the bill, writing “there must be some way for the sensible people in this country to avoid being forced to pay for lunacy like this. I truly find it almost intolerable to live in a place where I am forced, at the threat of being arrested at gunpoint, to pay for stuff like this.”

Planned Parenthood’s 4 minute video instruction in the proper method of beating the Hell out of a “loved” one can be found at either of the links below. As an interested taxpayer, why not tune in to see if you got your money’s worth.

I don't know that it promotes BDSM so much as explains it...

what would you tell your 15 yo when they ask what BDSM is?

I wouldn't be bothered by the video itself. What bothers me is the millions of taxpayer dollars thrown around to politically-connected organizations like Planned Parenthood.

Historical trivia: Planned Parenthood grew out of a push for "Eugenics," which included advocating forced sterilization of African-Americans, whom many liberals and progressives considered sub-human and intrinsically low-intelligence.

Yes, I guess that it does need to be explained as in some districts almost half of our high school graduates can't read, so a good verbal presentation on the joys of sex is certainly more pertinent to their lives than lets say American Literature or a class on Advanced Calculus.... Not even sure that we have very many teachers any more who could teach those subjects.

I agree with you for the most part...sticking our heads in the sand will not make it go away....Knowing the "rules" could help save some lives in the long run. As a cop and medical examiner investigator I handled deaths resulting from lack of education on sexual matters....remember one in particular, where a guy was found dead by his family a couple of days before Christmas as the result of Auto-Erotica gone bad. Now there is a scar that will never heal most likely and could have been prevented via education. The only thing I see blatantly wrong with the videos is Laci Green herself....That voice would give a woodpecker a headache.

Actually I was being sarcastic, I should have used the smiley face.... What we need is for our educators to focus on the basics, Reading Writing, Math, prepare kids for their economic future and provide them with a social foundation through literature and history.... We don't need our schools focused on deviant sex and social justice, which is happening far too often... Loons running the Looney Bin.

Sorry I did not pick up on that  I do agree with what you just said....100 percent. Only trouble is parents don't seem to want to educate the kids about this sort of stuff so in that absence what do we do?

I guess that I am of the opinion that there is a difference between sexual education and classes in sexual exploration. Also I think that there is such a thing as age appropriateness our public schools in some areas are introducing sex ed including some pretty far out stuff at very early ages.

Absolutely correct....Educators do not like to be called on their decisions, often treating opponents in a condescending way and then doing what they want anyway. Changing minds is a lot like changing minds about BHO....almost impossible. An area that I am familiar with that is an example is the D.A.R.E. program in schools. Police chiefs, in their political modes, will not suspend the program even though research is now showing that it is at best, ineffective, and at worst, giving the kids the info they use to determine what kind of drugs they want to use by seeing the end results that they desire. The videos that were linked here, at least, do speak of the need for safe sex and protection, no matter what you decide to do regarding BDSM.

Interesting comments on D.A.R.E. All the research shows that it is useless or worse. Some research shows that it is counterproductive. But it's a big P.R. show, and the outfits involved often make plenty of loot from it.

As to the B&D video, I'm of two minds. It's reasonably good information, but I question whether it is the role of bureaucrats to spend our tax money on such stuff.

Ms. Green is right about one thing in my opinion....S&M and halloween (as celebrated by our secular culture) have a lot in common. They both lean toward the dark side. This is not just education....this is not neutrally presented information. There is the clear implication that this is just fine.
