I have been a participating member now for about a month and have appreciated some great info and interactions and have experienced some frustration as well.
I would appreciate it if everyone who responds to a thread would read ALL responses before posting. I am seeing a lot of repetition and it is difficult to sort out meaningful content.
And, could I please suggest that some of the responses that are OFF TOPIC be started as a NEW THREAD rather than trash up the current topic with drivel. AND, keep your opinions GENTLE and personal. Perhaps private messaging if you need to continue a dialog with another member that gets off topic, especially if becomes heated.
Thanx Hogs

Is this a joke?
This forum is what is is; you get the good with the bad. Learn to ignore the bad, and the good will be really really good! I've gotten lots of info, advice and tips here.
You'll soon learn whom to ignore, and which threads to avoid.
If a thread starts getting out of hand, I just stop reading it. Simple as that.

Unwatch is a powerful tool! :-)

Your suggestions are good in principle, and some consideration of them in practice would help. If people are at least conscious of these ideas, then the behavior will generally allow for a better flow of conversations.
One thing you apparently are not aware of is the right of everyone to state as they see fit. YOUR DEALING WITH HUMANS. If this site is a problem for you perhaps you can start your own and make whatever rules you want. Then see how many members join or stay for that matter.

Perhaps you could set an example of good practice by putting a location with your details! Doesn't have to be that close; even which country you are in is a start!
It would be good if people would read the first post. Read one to day that the guy was having trouble and he mentioned a few things that he had done including using a tripod and at least three of the suggestions were that he use a tripod. That said - the hog is what it is - some of us need a life because we enjoy some of the off thread fights. You just have to live with it and skip what you don't like. - Dave
