I was lucky to find a few owls roosting in the San Jacinto Wildlife Area in Southern California. I spooked three before finding these two brave enough to stare me down long enough for a few pictures.

Great photos. I have been trying to get a picture of two large barn Owls. They show up every evening at dusk when there is not enough light for a photo.

Great shots!!! Is that second one a barn owl? It looks like it has a different face.

You can call the male owl to you sometimes, The male has a distinctive call of which you will have to hear to repeat , but doing so the owl will come in to defend its territory , I don't do this very often as it upsets the owl .

Absolutely awesome! Owls are with out a doubt my favorite birds. I hope to get some good shots myself someday.
