Here is a WW2 War Vet in Muskegon, MI. last fall of the USS Silversides, plenty of info on here on the web.

They have a pretty nice Maritime Museum with tours on her at Muskegon.

I want to see if they will let me have a private tour and photo shoot of some of her interior spaces to set up some wide angle shots and fisheye shots?

Can't hurt to ask. :) I have only been on the U-boat at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. They really did a nice job when they got the U505 inside. It looks like a sub pen and it's got some really nice displays and explanations. It's a little hard to get a tour of the inside because they sell out fast early in the day. I haven't been inside it sense it was outside but it's pretty cool and I heard they did a nice job on the inside as well.

Great shots as usual gtwhogger! Would love to get to see that boat sometime. Thanks for posting!

Nice shots. I was once a bubblehead (navy talk) and really like your shots.

Thanks, I took this just as the sky was starting to get light and I can't remember the settings and didn't look at the EXIF data but I want to say 30 seconds or maybe less exposure

Really excellent shots of a beautiful vessel. What a great job on the lens flair, icing on the cake.

Well, I may have to spend a few days in Muskegon this summer... Not only do they have the USS Silversides museum but they have the LST 393 museum too. My dad served on LST 512 during WWII and I would love to see what an LST looks like and wonder around on one.
Thanks for pointing this out Stan. :)
