I recently bought a Sony A65V. So far very happy with it. I still have some lenses to try out on it and see what I like best. I'm still on the fence with the new viewfinder. I too would like to see more discussion on the alpha's.

I have a Sony Alpha A330 and love it. Noise acceptable at high iso's, can use a couple of my old Minolta lenses. Just got a Tamron 10- 24. Haven't used it much, but it shows great promise. Sony DSLRs have been Pop Photography's camera of the year for the last two years

You can see what I have below. I have been uing the a500 for about 2 years now. I enjoy it a lot. I know Sony has introduced other camera's since, but this camera is meeting all my needs. I am not sure when I will upgrade.
There are many Sony Alpha users in UHH and we are not as vocal nor have as many issues as do C and N users.
Take care.

I went through several old Minolta Maxxum film camera's and have about 10 different lenses that all work on the A65V. I'm going through them now to see which one's preform better or at least for my picture taking. With the camera new and the lenses all different it will probably take a while. If any of you have any specific lenses you use share what they are if you please. I like the one of the kit lens i got with the camera. It's the 18-55 mm. I'm also trying out the 28-80mm Quantaray 1:3.5-5.6 lens right now. So far I like the results.

I use a Minolta 50mm 1.7 equal to 75mm, good for portrates and out fo focus backgrounds. Also a Tamron 75-300 tele. both work great. Since Sony has image stabilization in the body, not in the lenses. This makes for cheaper new lenses and older lenses with image stabilization.

I'm a long time Minolta to Konica to Sony user, starting with the Minolta SRT101. I just upgraded to an Alpha 65 from an A100. Originally, my reason for staying with Konica/Minolta/Sony was to use my old lenses. I'm happy I made that decision, since it seems Sony is now making spectacular advances and has a camera every bit as good, or better, than Canons and Nikons. The only problem with DSLRs is the steep learning curve. There are so many things the camera can do that it's mind boggling. I'm just trying to focus on learning the features I'll need for landscape photography and will ignore the rest. I suppose it's like the human brain. I've heard we only use a small percentage of our brain's true capability. It'll be the same with my camera.

A few months ago I upgraded fron the A 33 to the A 65 . I use the Tamron 18-270 pzd most of the time and just bought the Sony 16-50 in addition to the 18-55 kit lens. The images are tack sharp even at 2x digi zoom ( making it 100mm). Shooting with this camera is a lot of fun , including HDR , creative , picture effects , fast 10 fps and video continuous focusing.

I, like a few others have commented, am an old Minolta shooter with film. From a Minolta srt101 Maxuum 9000 to finally an Alpha A300. My old lenses fit the A300 so have been slowly checking them out. The kit lens I got with the A300 is an 18mm - 70mm, a bit longer than the current kit lens offered with the Sony's. I have added a Tamron 70-300mm and have got some good shots with that one.
I am retired so some of the newer Sony lenses are beyond my financial scope so I just keep slowly working and learning with what I have and from the enormous fund of information from all the UHH'rs out there.
Will post some pics sometime when I think I have something worthwhile. :D

John.

Any Alpha shooters out there using the Zeiss lenses available for those cameras?

In other kinds of applications like microscopes or binoculars, Zeiss optics are really superb.
