I just got the tracking info. My Nikon D600 sent to Nikon has arrive at their repair facility in Melville NY. I sent it out on Friday. Not too bad. The only question is, why did it sit at the UPS center in Parsippany, NJ all day Monday?

At least it got there. I can't get the D600 notice site to print out a shipping label so I can send it in.

Mine is there too. Arrived last Friday. Login service yesterday. The service order says "B2 service repair rank B2".
Reason for service - Sensor dust, no charge/good will repair.

According to others, B2 means for shutter mechanism replacement. I do not know how long it takes to get mine back.

I think may be due to the recent winter storm. It stuck in NJ.

It got confirmation from UPS this morning that it had been delivered. I've heard nothing from Nikon yet. I don't know how long this first step will take.

I got the same message today. I called Nikon out of curiosity. They claim 8 to 10 day turnaround. I remarked that mine had the B2 service replacement about a year ago. They claimed there is a new shutter assembly being implemented. They would NOT confirm or deny it is a D610 shutter assembly.
Nikon also claimed there is NO plan to exchange D610's for the D600 unless the individual retailer chooses to do so.

Actually, I am one of the lucky one that my D600 sensor is OK. never had excessive spots. I had over 10 K clicks but over half of that is checking sensor dust. My "FoCal"'s sensor dust analysis software indicating only10 small spots after 5K clicks. I have cleaned my sensor twice myself. I am taking this free services due to the rumored "new shutter".

Another package might have gotten there ahead of yours. :D

I sent a Priority pkg from NY to NC on Jan 27. He's still waiting for it. :|

I have had one instance of spots while shooting ocean side pics. They are prevalent in the sky. I will send mine in, but I hope the 10 day turnaround doesn't backlog into 2 or 3 times that. Maybe I'll wait until they work through you guys first :)

Did it got to another UPS site between Parsimony and Melville? Usually UPS ships inter-site overnight. The inter-site trucks arrive at the next site early enough in the morning that packages for local delivery go out that morning while packages destined for another UPS location are sorted and placed on inter-site trucks that will be going out that night. If your package went directly from Parsimony to Melville then it was either a screw up or deliveries to Nikon's are scheduled for evenings, not day time.

Why would you post a UPS issue on this forum?

I sent my D600 in the day after I received the service advisory and they received it on Feb 28th, just checked today and it's still located in the "SHOP". I noticed the "spots" reduced greatly after about 3200 clicks but recently noticed they began to come back in force after about 7600 clicks. The notice I received indicated that they were not only cleaning the sensor but replacing the shutter as well. I hope this will take care of this issue once and for all.
